For Laura and Peter’s wedding in late June at The Cowshed, Crail, I had the pleasure of bringing my signature look to their relaxed and informal celebration, styled to perfection with a “Midsummer Night’s Dream” feel by the talented team at Gloam.
A Relaxed and Joyful Morning in The Farmhouse
Laura’s wedding morning was filled with excitement and laughter as everyone prepared together in the charming on-site Farmhouse, which is perfectly set up for bridal preparations. The atmosphere was busy yet calm, with lots of laughter and a few lighthearted debates about The Eras Tour—I’d just scored a last-minute ticket, and I couldn’t resist sharing every detail of my Taylor Swift experience!
Laura's Natural, Glowy Bridal Look
Laura loves makeup but rarely wears foundation, preferring a more minimalist look. We chose a skin-focused, glowy base that evened out her complexion while keeping a fresh, radiant feel—perfect for the natural beauty she wanted on her wedding day. To highlight her blue eyes, we added a subtle cat-eye flick and fluttery lashes for a touch of definition without overpowering her natural beauty.

What were the most important points that you considered when looking for hair and makeup?
When I was planning my makeup for the day, I knew that I still wanted to look like myself and not have anything too heavy or dramatic. However, I still wanted to feel like like the most 'beautiful version' of myself on the day and have lovely makeup.
Q. Did you face any challenges when sourcing a wedding hair and makeup artist?
One of the main challenges I came across was finding someone who hit that perfect spot between being really beautiful makeup that was still natural and not too heavy.
Q. What made my services stand out from other options?
Firstly, you had such a brilliantly laid out website - the fact that you made it clear that you specialised in very fresh, glowy makeup immediately made you stand out. Also, having reviews from other brides was a major bonus. I then had a peek through your social media and really loved the photos of other brides/clients you had done in the past.
Q. Did you have any worries or concerns when it came to your wedding hair or makeup?
My main concern was not feeling like myself and like I was wearing a costume. However, I was also a bit worried about my makeup not being 'special' enough for the day since I knew I did want it to be quite natural.
Q.What part of your client journey did you find the most helpful or beneficial?
Definitely the trial run - it not only gave me an idea of what the makeup would look for on the day but also meant I got to know you and Iliana ahead of the wedding which made the day itself feel a bit more relaxed. I also loved having the checklist for the day before - that was a huge help for me and my bridesmaids!
Q. What did you enjoy the most about working with me?
Definitely how relaxed and easygoing it felt. I felt really listened to and consulted on the hair and makeup. Being able to chat away while getting ready was really lovely and you fitted into the morning seamlessly
Q.What advice would you give to anyone else planning their wedding?
Make sure you have really good communication with your hair and makeup artist so they know exactly what you want - it's such a massively important part of the day and was one of the main reasons I felt so confident and beautiful. If I hadn't been open about what I wanted my makeup and hair to look like, it would have really changed my whole experience on the day..
